We dissect the problem to find the underlying issues, trauma, genetic and environmental contributors, and address their unmet needs or “fill the gap” where developmental lapses occurred. Treating addiction is often not about “rehabilitation, but “habilitation” where we offering information that was never received instead of taking someone back to the state they were in before they started their addictive patterns. The reason people start distracting or anesthetizing is because they do not have the skills, knowledge or capacity for discomfort.
We use research based approaches and techniques to address life’s challenges in a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate process. We use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Approaches, Mindfulness Skills and Training. We design individualized treatment programs that may include one or a combination of modalities to address client needs: Individual, Group, Family, Couple Counseling. We also offer workshops and weekend intensive session formats.
